Watched the first episode last night, I'm not sure about it either. I'm not sure why they have to 'reimagine' everything. I've watched this series and enjoyed it. As a US Navy vet, I did particularly enjoy the attention to detail about shipboard life, the technologies used on the DDG, etc. However, outside of boot camp, in my 6 years of service, I never encountered any sailor that's as Joe Navy as these actors portray. This, so much! It was like a rip off of "The Italian Job" and "Oceans 11" in one go without any substance (not that either of those were particularly great to begin with).
Yeah, just watched Ep 1 and it shows promise - some of the fight scenes were pretty good, some of the acting was pretty average. I've not read the books (and have only played a small amount of the third game) so I have no canonical viewpoint.
