IMDB (internet movie database) has started their own streaming site called imdb freedive. You can watch Fringe, Warehouse 13, Caprica, Lexx, Quantum Leap and some other shows for free with ads. US region locked. The imdb channel is available to watch on prime US region without a prime subscription. I think IMDB freedive has another non prime video site also.

Link to US region channel on US prime video site below. If you use a browser and a region thing you'll have to log in through the US site.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/storefr ... reewithads

I think the freedive app is available on amazon firesticks, etc... also.

Interesting. There's also a reboot of "Project Blue Book" as well. I'm not sure if it's a real "reboot" of the old show or not, but it looks interesting.

Recently had a surprise new entry into my five favourite films. - 'Wildling.' I'd been scanning Sky for something to watch and stumbled across it. It's a pretty simplistic plot, but fulfilling and a little poignant at the same time. Name and the promotional poster more or less explain what it's about.
“Man, my poor head is battered,” Ed said.

“That explains its unusual shape,” Styanar said, grinning openly now. “Although it does little to illuminate just why your jowls are so flaccid or why you have quite so many chins.”

“I…” Had she just called him fat? “I am just a different species, that’s all.”

“Well nature sure does have a sense of humour then,” Styanar said. “Shall we go inside? It’d not be a good idea for me to be spotted by others.”

Watched series 2 opening episode over the weekend, and enjoyed very much. It's a different theme/story to the 1st series, and a fresh link as been forged to the original series. I would say I spent a couple of minutes a little confused as I tried to pick up the thread, but it was worthwhile. Recommended (Available on Netflix in the UK.)

The pilot for a new series 'The Passage' is available of Sky. It's an interesting take on what I imagine is gonna end up as a vampire apocalypse with well-meaning yet utterly unethical scientists trying to create a panacea by infected people with the 'disease.' The plot seems to revolve around the conclusion that only someone very young can be infected and maintain their humanity, and the agent who is supposed to bring the selected child to the facility feeling conflicted over it.

Episode 2 is aired on Tuesday (on Sky - UK.)

I enjoyed it, although there was one thing that bugged me:

Why did the Discovery's transporters suddenly function to put Pike down onto the asteroid and then pick Michael and him back from it? The whole reason they had to jury-rig the Hiawatha's transporters was because direct transport wasn't available!

But... but wasn't it obvious?

Ah, it's because after visiting, they had detailed topographical and geological information, and were able to attenuate the transporters to the physical locale. Plus, yeah, it was a howler, wasn't it?

I half way through the first episode, I do find the "action" scenes a bit tiresome and contrived, but so far it seems a bit better.

Hers's one to watch, Sex Education on Netflix I was sceptical about watching it but I watched it anyway and it's good. It gets a 8.5 rating on IMDB and even the BBC classes it as a must watch, even though it is from the competition.

So what's it about, well the hint is in the name and there is a lot of sex or should I say simulated sex as it's not pornographic, but there is some nudity. There is lesbianism, Gay, straight and even interracial sex, so if any of these subjects effect you in a bad way, then don't watch. Also got to say one of the main characters is Gillian Anderson, yes that's the Scully from X-Files, got to admit I didn't recognise her to start with.

A major gripe I have with it, is that it is meant to be in an English school but it is more like an American school, unless the UK schools have drastically changed since I was at school, admittedly that was a few years ago but when I started watching it I was wondering why all the supposed american school kids and adults were speaking with an English accent. So I reckon it was written by an American who thought English schools were just like American schools, or it was a Brit who wrote it for American television.

But it is definitely well worth a watch.

I read something about that, it was filmed in Wales by an American director who decided to replace reality with his own preconceptions for an 'international' (READ: American) audience.
