Derek Fowlds, famous as the slightly dim civil servant Bernard Woolley in "Yes, Minister" and "Yes, Prime Minister" has died:

Think that's all the main guys from those series gone now.

[EDIT] And turns out Christopher Tolkien died this week as well, but apparently that wasn't important enough for the national news, just the local Oxfordshire news:

Gosh darn it. :( Still, between him and Graham Chapman the afterlife is starting to get a good comedy troupe together...RIP, Terry.

Kirk Douglas was a great actor and one of the last (if not the last) from the Hollywood golden era.

I think he should have a funeral like he did in The Vikings.

R.I.P.

I was surprised to hear that one, she was older than I thought she was--she looked really young (like, student young!) in those programmes she did back in the 80s.

Katherine Goble Johnson died on February the 24th, aged 101. What a remarkable, trailblazing woman. I'd not heard of her until today when I read her obituary in the Economist.

Max von Sydow has died aged 90:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-51803195

For some reason the first thing that comes to mind when I think of him is his performance as Ming the Merciless in the 1980s Flash Gordon movie. I don't know if he'd *want* to be particularly remembered for that, but it was certainly a memorable performance!

Albert Uderzo has died. Made it to 92 years. I was recently thinking about reading the Astérix series again.

Yeah, saw that. - He had pretty bad heart failure and, as his family said, his 'heart couldn't take it.' - He came towards the end of the era of televised comedy double acts and, although not my favourite pairing, they certainly raised a few laughs.

RIP
“Man, my poor head is battered,” Ed said.

“That explains its unusual shape,” Styanar said, grinning openly now. “Although it does little to illuminate just why your jowls are so flaccid or why you have quite so many chins.”

“I…” Had she just called him fat? “I am just a different species, that’s all.”

“Well nature sure does have a sense of humour then,” Styanar said. “Shall we go inside? It’d not be a good idea for me to be spotted by others.”
