Agreed, a 1080ti as minimum would also not fit to the lore, that they want to push the game out for ps4 and the xbox.
Lets wait and see when the new GPUs are coming, and if they are any good.

There has been a suggestion that the reason for the delay in the game is so they can launch it nearer to the launch of the PS5 and whatever-the-heck the next-gen XBox will be called, because they have the horsepower to really show it off properly. I suspect people might be thinking back to GTA5 there, which was delayed by a few months from its original release date on XBox 360 and PS3 for "polish", then a year later they released the enhanced edition for PS4 and XBox One.

Cyberpunk 2077 is delayed again, I really wanted to play this :(. The original release date would've been the best, during the quarantine.

Coincidentally much closer to the launch dates of the new consoles. I know of a few people who were hesitant to buy the game in September on the older consoles.

I've just put a refund request in with GOG. I pre-ordered this over a year ago, and this latest delay is enough. (Yes, I know I shouldn't have pre-ordered it and it's my stupid fault for getting sucked into the hype).

I'll buy it, but when it's cheaper.

@pjknibbs and @Stars_InTheirEyes: You may be right. If the new consoles get delayed, watch the game get delayed too. I hadn't thought of that, perhaps because I don't follow console news (I'm a card-carrying member of the PC Master Race ;)).

If they postpone it a little more, it's going to end up narrating events of an alternative past...

Another side effect of Cyberpunk being delayed again, is that Factorio is now going to be release 6 weeks earlier as it's old release date was a week after the new Cyberpunk release date, and they deemed that as being too close and would effect their release as everyone and the press will be talking about Cyberpunk. So Factorio is now being released or should I say leaving early access on August 14 instead of September 25.

I haven't been following this but it does look pretty cool: GTA meets Bladerunner, what's not to like? I'll be keeping an eye on it..

Actually, since then they've said anyone who buys the game on the current consoles will have backwards compatibility on the new consoles plus a later free upgrade patch.

They said this before or after the speculation that the delay had to do with console release dates? If after, then it's probably just damage control.

If they deliver anything close to what they have shown Cyberpunk to be so far, I will take the delay if that means it does not end up being a buggy mess.

Hate to doublepost, but I guess in this case it makes sense.

For all who missed it there are some new information out there.

When the demo came out in 2013 I immediately started to look forward to this game. It became one of a handful of future games very much on my radar.

The impression I got at the time, and for a while after, was that it would be something akin to Fallout or Elder Scrolls... in the sense that you could play it either in 1st person or 3rd person. I really dislike the first person view for most games, and especially one in which you can 'comprehensively' create your own character. I spent 100s of hours happily playing both Fallout 4 and Elder Scrolls in 3rd person, both games modded into next century. Only time I went into 1st was when using the bow.

When the bomb was dropped that Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be 1st person only I immediately (and sadly) lost MOST of my interest in buying/playing the game. Up to then it was an instant pre-order for me. Now I will only buy it if some kind person on Nexus manages to mod a 3rd person view for general gameplay... something that's probably unlikely to happen.

I sort of envy those who prefer 1st person, or are happy to play the game in 1st person. To those guys I hope you have a wonderful time with it. :)
I'd much rather regret the things I've done, than regret those I haven't.

the new trailer is shiny, however I echo some of the above.

the game appears to be more of a shooter than cyber anything. I inevitably compare to another shooter, that was more of a shooter than Cyberpunk - Deus Ex.

it's shiny enough I might get it, but too much of a GTA...

14 minute gameplay video given to reporters. It has no commentary (which is a good thing IMO) and shows some stuff not shown in the trailer.

We now know the requirements, they seem rather reasonable:

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7 or 10
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon RX 470
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 70 GB available space
Additional Notes: SSD recommended

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G
Memory: 12 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon R9 Fury
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 70 GB available space

Obviously max settings will probably crush even the newest hardware. I wonder, why post Windows 7 if you require DirectX 12? It's either a typo and they meant 11 or there's a way to get DirectX 12 running reliably in Windows 7.

Granted I rarely play a high end game but ... this is the first time I see an SSD recommended for the min requirement. Wonder what the load time gonna be for people who on normal drive.

I think it might be for in-game loading, those without an SSD might see a lot of texture pop-up.

Exactly my thoughts. I've recently started FO4 again after transfer to an M.2 SSD. Now I can rush into the city (Bunker Hill area) without any lag/missing textures. Never expected that an SSD makes such a big difference.
