Gladwell's interview style is to conduct the interview with a cattle-prod until, after repeated jabs, something interesting is created than couldn't have been achieved using a different approach.

His discomfort when the table is turned, however, is pretty darn satisfying. By this time, Lewis was obviously a bit tired of being poked, so he poked back...

Lewis - "Do you ever wonder why you have difficulty writing about relationships?"

Gladwell, squirming uncomfortably, stammering/rambling, then a disarming quip often made by uncomfortable interview subjects - "How much time do we have?"
