Deleted posts add to post count?

I was at 664 posts (side topic, in the old forum posts in off topic didn't count toward post count, now they seem to)
A bot posted today in Cyrillic and I replied and my post count went up to 665
I'll be honest here, expecting the thread to get deleted, I was testing if my post count would go back down ... it seems it didn't.
Was the thread deleted as I thought? And if so, how come my post count didn't go back down?

Your post wasn't deleted, it was just moved out of sight for now. Same procedure as usual.
