What about some kind of UPS-type device between the source and the Pi? I've seen a few micro-UPS implementations for a Pi, and I know some UPS devices can signal via USB to allow the devices they power time to shut down.

Coincidently, Explaining Computers has just release a Raspberry PI 4 video, where he uses one as his desktop PC for a week, using it for everything from video editing to running a slideshow. It's interesting at just how powerful the little computer has gotten over the years.
