I'm trying to install Litcube's Universe mod, which requires the NoSteam.exe.
I can't download the file until I have registered X3TC.
I have a steam CD-Key which I have entered into the 'Game Registration Code' box. When I submit the code, I see the 'Serial Invalid' error.
What am I doing wrong?
I have tried using the 'Copy key to clipboard' option in Steam.
I have tried the above and removing the '-' separators before submitting.
I have tried typing it manually.
Am I using the wrong number?
I thought I read somewhere that the CD-Key and the Registration Code where not the same thing.
But, the Litcube instructions say to use the CD-Key.
Then there is this page:
https://www.egosoft.com/support/faq/faq ... nswer=1167
But, I don't think the Steam GUI has this option in the new library setup. I certainly can't find it in any case.
Plz help... such sad :*(

Re: Game registration fails with 'serial invalid' error
First of all the No-Steam exe for LU is for X3AP rather than X3TC.
There is no CD key for X3AP, but there is a Steam key. This is the correct FAQ although it hasn't survived the BBS change well.
Make sure you are logged into both Egosoft and Steam using the accounts that you used for X3TC/AP. To link your Steam and Egosoft accounts you now want the User Control Panel (from your clicking on your username near the top right in the Egosoft forum), Egosoft Settings tab at the top, Game Registration tab to the left, and then the blue Update via Steam button.
That should work.

Re: Game registration fails with 'serial invalid' error
The FAQ sez:
"To register your Steam copy of X3: Terran Conflict and/or X3: Albion Prelude, open the Steam client, right click on X3: Terran Conflict in your games Library and choose Register your Game. This will open a web page on the Egosoft site containing your registration code."
I do not have this option for either TC or AP. Neither myself, nor my friend, can see a 'Register your Game' option in the Steam interface.
Steam has recently changed the game library GUI. Is this FAQ still accurate?
In the right-click context menu I only have the option 'Manage > CD keys''
This gives me a 25 character code of the form: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
The game registration box does not like this code. If I try to use the code, the website says 'serial invalid'.

Re: Game registration fails with 'serial invalid' error
As I said above, the FAQ ".. hasn't survived the BBS change well.".
Did you read the advice at the end of my post above?
