Re: Litcube's Universe
I was just looking at mayhem, I'm pretty tempted to try it.
Also, apparently gates are no longer a thing now? Does every ship come equipped with jump drives now or something?

QUESTION: "requirments" for tug?
What ship do i need to be the actual tug? What is the smallest one that can do it and what softwares do i need on it?
EDIT: do i need a "player HQ" or a shipyard?
I have tons of ships bought as used, but i only have a weapons-complex i'd like to tow them to, there i can fix em and then sell em. They are now scattered all over the universe.
EDIT2: Was "marine repairs" part of LU by default? If yes, do they need certain level of skill-X to do things?

Re: Litcube's Universe
It needs to be a ship which can allow the ships being tugged to be docked, the smallest is probably a TM which can TUG home M3 M4 or M5. Special Command software is needed for it to do it and also a homebase

Hi,
Is there any guide about how to edit the laser values in Litcube's universe?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I might be coming back to play LU . I feel that Saturn Hub are a bit overpowered, after spawning a few of these(the big 400 ones) you essentially are rich and no need to struggle anymore to make money. Am i playing the game wrong? is there any alternative to Saturn hubs?

Mobile mining fleets are also very profitable.

Re: Litcube's Universe
Hi, I have a problem:) When I start new game new sector or saved game loading time was ~30 sec. Now this time is ~5 min
Re: Litcube's Universe
Anyone else notice "boarding" is broken?
CHAFF kills off one or more pods EVERY launch. Thats ~50 million worth of marines dead. Training those took quuuuuite a while too. If you want to board more than M6s you need missile-frigate. Those, when full of missiles are OP god-weapons but cost bazillions to fill up.
They are totally useless +70mil outside of shooting missiles. Why cant they have one frontal 12t-turret for missiles and regular flak-loudout?
The frigates carry LESS then needed amount of marines to board anything bigger. Trying to launch from two frigates is just plain impossible and the marines will be miss-timed and then you have two times the casulties from chaff. Try with lesser group and they wont go thru the hull and will just die once inside.
You cant missile-swarm the target with wasps since chaff only fires when missile/pod is launched.
Right now one of THE most fun and challenging aspects of the game has been ruined and needs fixing.
IDEAS TO FIX IT:
Integrate one of the many boarding mods. Beam them aboard or something.
Or, chaff does not fire or work against pods.
"The boarding ship"
Pirate or other rare origin ship, expensive if bought. Good shields to hold against bigger-than-itself bigger foes, good turret-coverage to hold against fighters, but cant mount any "big guns" making it less usefull outside its intended role.
M7, maybe a light carrier able to carry some fighters to take on the bigger ships. Toothless against ships of its own size and bigger but desirable "player-ship" for capturing targets and earlier game fighter-mopping.
Standardice marine-capacity. All same class share same capacity and "boarding-ships" have maximum amount.

Re: Litcube's Universe
Long loading time is only saved game new one is faster. between sectors 1-2 seconds
Re: Litcube's Universe
I disagree that it's "broken". LU introduces Chaff and they are very effective at taking out missiles. The fact that the enemy use them against my boarding pods makes total sense, why shouldn't they. That's why before you attempt to board a ship with boarding pods you:swatti wrote: ↑Wed, 31. Oct 18, 20:12Anyone else notice "boarding" is broken?

1. get close and scan the ship and look to see if it has Chaff in its inventory
2. for every Chaff in the inventory fire a cheap missile at the ship, they will use their Chaff to intercept it
3. Once there is no more Chaff start firing your boarding pods
In order to be able to transport sufficient number of marines to successfully board large enemy ships you'd need 2 ships carrying marines: one that you use to get close and fire the boarding pods (an M7M that supports boarding pods works well, plenty of shielding on it), full of marines, and a TP (the more shields it has the) carrying even more marines. You fire boarding pods from the M7M until you run out of, then use the Transport Extension to teleport marines from the nearby TP into your cargo hold, then fire the rest of them. The frigates carry LESS then needed amount of marines to board anything bigger. Trying to launch from two frigates is just plain impossible and the marines will be miss-timed and then you have two times the casulties from chaff. While all this seems "bothersome" the way I look at it is that it's a counter-balance for the fact that I'm about to successfully board a huge/super expensive ship.
It definitely fires for other missiles. See my video on this: https://youtu.be/uVvEvOg6wBA?t=4419You cant missile-swarm the target with wasps since chaff only fires when missile/pod is launched.
It's subjective what we find the most fun ofc but personally I disagree that boarding in X3 is the most fun aspect of it, even without any of the issues above (and without LU) it's a crapshot, a random number playing game, save and reload and hope for better. Very badly designed game mechanic that at its best is frustrating.Right now one of THE most fun and challenging aspects of the game has been ruined and needs fixing.

Re: Litcube's Universe
Does your save have large vanilla-style (not saturn) complexes? There is a noted problem/bug in X3 that appears to increase sector loading time each time a complex connector is used, with a bigger penalty for more stations in the new complex. The most recent thread discussing it is viewtopic.php?f=94&t=399008.atomik_111111 wrote: ↑Wed, 31. @swatti
LU makes you think a lot more than the original egosoft THINK option.
Thinking out of the box is an absolute, when playing.
Dizzy's play through is an excellent choice for anyone wanting to really open the lid on LU.

I just found these interesting starts from something called time of the truth. You can start as Xenon, which seems very cool to add something new. Is it possible to get this for LU? TYVM!

Re: Litcube's Universe
Creating new game starts is quite easy. You just have to edit the two files "addon\director\start.xml" and "addon\types\gamestarts.xml" from one of LU's cat/dat files.
In which ship do you want to start, and in which sector? How do you want your relations to other races?
