Hey Guys and @michtoen. I have a "strange" problem. The setup batch can´t find the files in downloads (but they are there). Does someone know how to fix that? Because of that i can´t install anything.

Update: Problem solved.

thats a good idea too i dont use those "that" often and its close enough :D (i just diversify ships to not have to switch lasers in these three groups (attack vessel, repair vessel, mining vessel) :D but this is usefull! ;)

Guys, for what purpose are so many abandoned ships made? Too many of them! Now you do not need to build the ships yourself or buy them, you do not need to get the blueprints, just collect the abandoned, repair and equip - that's all. Part of the interest in the game is gone. In my opinion it is necessary to reduce the number of abandoned ships by 10 times, but I do not know how to do it.
Try tweaking the bailout ships settings and lower the chances or even entirely turn off bailouts for bigger ships.
Thanks, but where I can find these settings?

following the guide in second post will lead you there. try, investigate, try, investigate then ask next time :D like all we did (even if unsuccesfully at least its visible that we have tried to solve the problem).

Hey, be nice guys - we all want fun and we post here to help and get help.

Anyway, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlrQmNqU1QM

It will go through the base settings of LxXRM 2.0 and what to set.
Including the bailing.

I added some settings to that script, you can fine tune it down to the point where you only give xenons or pirate small ships a chance and never frighters - or in the other way.
Get the rate you like, thats how LxXRM plays - by get create your setup (and thats the difference to a "real" mod when it comes to mod collections).

But the default rate makes sense if you enable the thread mods - add yaki, pirates, khaak & revelation and you need that high bails to get a fleet to defence.
No chance you win by the vanilla trading way, the khaak will easily overtake the universe in that time.

i have a question regarding the settings for the salvage software choice you have choosed the system override software, thing is my play is lawful and i believe its a problem to have it on ship while scanned by police. Does it though mean that if i switch it to salvage software i will be able to remotely claim ships with just that? that seems too easy to me too :D however auto claiming through salvagers doesnt work if the system is not there. and since my salvagers will work on capturing unlawful ships (pirates xenon and khak) they will be doing so in lawful sectors and i believe having the SOS system in might be an issue, what is your reason of changing it to that?

and another question i have some of the scripts seem to not be working, for example if i send a ship to buy something through the universal best buy locator it always fails with null and reason unknown, only M3 with repair lasers is pirate cutlass for me also. (while having all set up as in your video) at one point it was telling me that the plugin manager was not correctly closed i switched off the game booted it up and closed it then opened the game again since then no message about that but then these weird things

The repair laser will be changed in the next version.

Not sure about the best buy locator -i remember i had always some problems with that, also with near vanilla.

The plugin manager message means what it says - somewhere the manager did not wrote back the wares file correctly or it got deleted otherwise. The game then just give that warning. Opening and closing the plugin manager will fix it. Its not a direct game breaking thing because there is always a fitting TWareT.pck file in one of the fake mods cats but the check routine looks for an updated one in the types. Where the plugin manager do some final adjustments if needed.

As you noticed the game becomes somewhat cheaty if you use the salvage software in the claim mod. Yes, you can't fly around with the override software just as it is - you need the software scrambler too - then the override software will not trigger if you are scanned by the police. Thats how it is in vanilla too, thats how it should be.

Wow awesome, what happened to the repair lasers would i be able to fix it myself? kinda need it i have like 20 ships that are 20% ill probably repair enough of them to buy magnetar or something and then use that, or marines floating in space could do the job too but again i need that m7m for that.

thanks for the other answers i felt like the salvage soft would also be cheaty but then stock market is too :D and the main thing being i didnt know about the scrambler will get it then! :D thank you! (i never got so far in vanilla max i did was get the m7m ship and go ****** shit up everywhere :D (in vanilla)

I have also changed the thermal paste in my laptop and now the game was crashing on me after 20 mins ( max temps are 50 C GPU 74 C CPU)
however to verify this is not a HW damage on the MB i will have to try to play another game (perf exhausting game) to verify that assumption reinstalling the whole thing in the process too... (new download of x3 and everything set up from scratch, doing that now).

Anyone any idea what it could be from X3 / mod perspective? (while i try to review / check the same in other games to rule out HW failure)

Are there any crash logs somewhere from the game? or shall i post the windows event manager records?

this is in event manager:

trying to obtain complete dmp file, the gpu clock spikes just before the freeze, damn i need that new build... the guy is busy...

edit: it does not generate one trying to analyse the application with windows debuging tools. im thinking my save might have been corrupted by my erratic changes earlier to the cat files i will start a new game to confirm that hypothesis xD result: it looks a new game runs stable perhaps the save is corrupted no biggie i made a mess anyway in the original playthrough xD

damn lost the explorer to autopilot... gonna let it run for few hours with seta active and start a new one later xD

last update of this post: it did not crash i think the save must be broken.

Maybe posted already but are you aware the Formidable Freebooter start seems broken? It gets stuck on the initial startup for me even though all other starts are fine.

im playing what everyone in this comunity and in this game is :D humble merchant / Destructoid oligarch :D (first i accumulate wealth and befriend all befriendable factions and then i kill the galaxy once i have the funds for it maintaining invasion force in all sectors and just flicking the enemy switch in global settings , after completing story lines :D).

on the other note to my earlier debugging post, i think that i just bumped into some unfortunate race condition that just repeats in the save over and over **** it ill scrap it and manage my money bettter in next game (did few mistakes in the original playthrogh)

update: wow started a new game 20 mins in the game i see huge explosion something took down something big with this result: https://imgur.com/a/s3ibTUF

Hey guys!

So I'm having a host of issues that I'm not sure how to fix or what even caused them.

1) The main terran invasion fleet for xrm does nothing, it somehow gets destroyed on game start and stays destroyed (tried on multiple different starts)
2) On Military base revamps it shows all the faction names fine until the save / load option to enable mars. Then the first, and second to last and last race all show either an number or null.
3) The base Satellite deployment option simply doesn't work, when I click it it brings me back to the sector menu.
4) The Special < Automated Satellite Network script also doesn't work. They simply dock up instantly and say "retreating" even if the option is turned off and nothing is in sector (tested on new saves and my old one). (Edit - the script half works, if set to explore they will begin flying again but will set up one satellite in a random spot in a sector then fly to the next, ignoring all my pre-sets)
5) I saw something about rimless gates in the list of changes but all my gates have rings?
6) The universe seems pretty quite, not many fights are hardly any bailed ships.

As far as I know i downloaded everything correctly, put it in the DOWNLOADS folder, it installed correctly, and did the "new game start" things correctly. I've tried to uninstall everything and re-install it but still having these issues. Any idea what I've done?

Thanks guys!

Few questions.

1. Is it possible for the player to claim sectors? If so, what mod in LxXRM is it in and where to find that option?
2. Will there be a fix for the universe map search function? Typing in sector names doesn't work by default since none of the sector names show up if they're typed in (except a very few).

1. Yes, i claim sectors just by putting a dock there (Trading station, orbital defense station, military outpost, etc) if the sector has no owner (unknown sector). If the sector has an owner then i really didn't try it, but the theory says you have to destroy all stations then put yours.
2. It is an issue with the colored names mod. You can search in the forum about the mod. I remember seen some way to enable the search by un-coloring the first letter in all sectors, but can't remember de procedure.

**EDIT** Honestly Im thrown for a loop, I've installed everything correctly, even uninstalled and re-installed the base game.

All my gates still have rings around them, the terran main invasion fleet still seems off? I've also gotten a few crashes but I blame that on improved races 2.0, something i have since removed.

Gonna re-dowload all the files and see if that fix's anything.

Re downloading hasn't fixed my issues so unsure what else to try.
