Description:

I stopped working on this a few years back and decided to release it after finding it on my drive. The original version was for ReShade 3.0 and, when using it with 4.3, I found that I had to do further tweaking. Anyway, the purpose of the mod is to give Litcube's Universe a slight visual overhaul with minimal editing. I really layer on the bloom, so I had to go in and edit the nebula and planet textures. I also removed every lens flare I could find. If you really like your flares, you can enable them with "bAnamFlareEnable" under Bloom.fx. Keep in mind that these flares aren't baked like in the vanilla game, so they might appear in unexpected places. I also made a few other visual tweaks. The shockwave for large explosions is new, for example. Right now, the textures haven't been packed into .cat files or whatever's proper. I haven't touched X3 in a while, so I'm still relearning things.

Anyway, installation is easy. Just install Litcube and the latest version of ReShade as per normal. Then, unpack Glowworm to the X3 directory. Replace any files if it asks. Oh, and make sure to back-up the X3 directory. It should install fine over an old Litcube install, but I can't say for sure.
Note that Glowworm uses the following shaders:
  • MagicBloom.fx
  • AmbientLight.fx
  • Bloom.fx
  • FilmGrain.fx
  • Deband.fx
  • LiftGammaGain.fx

Note:

Due to the fact that ReShade affects everything on screen, the intense bloom I use can cause the UI to blow out. The effect is less pronounced in darker UI mods. I personally use this: https://www.nexusmods.com/x3terranconflict/mods/8
