Using X3 editor 2 to put weapons on ships

Post by shadowblayde » Thu, 10. Jul 14, 21:32

Hi,

I know how to open Tships in the editor but, what I'd like to do is add weapons to the front of the Otas Scarab TS ship (from X-Tended). In Tships, I find the Scarab, go to the Turrets tab and see that it has the following in #1:

Position: Cockpit
Viewport: SS_Cockpit_Default
Model: ships\props\cameradummy
Scene node index: 7

I then add a weapon:
Count: 1
Model / Scene: have tried ships\props\invisibleweapon and ships\props\weapondummy
Ordinal(1): 8
Model / scene 2: blank (do I need something here ?)
Ordinal(2): have tried -1 and +1 (I think this has something to do with back and front)

I add a few different things in the compatible guns e.g. ion disrupter.

When I use the mod for custom starts and go with optimised ship, I can see the weapons in the bottom left of the screen but when I press the right mouse button, nothing happens.

I thought I might need to press F1 to make sure that I'm using the correct turret but that does no good.

Where am I going wrong ?

It's a bit more complicated than that. Check this guide for directions on how to do it.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am :D

Thanks.

The link to the youtube video from your link really helped.

I am currently tweaking the xyz positions of the lasers.
