where are X3 save files??

well,

my problem is this..

i have installed X3 on my new laptop, and i want to transfer my saves over from my desktop.

But i cannot find them..

it was simple in X2, it was just some .sav files in the main folder..

i am unsure as to what files are my saves in X3 though..

any help would be appreciated..

That's a commonly asked question...you'd think somebody would have put it in the FAQ, wouldn't you?

If you are using the Egosoft own MAC port, then the MAC support thread at the top of this forum mentions that they are stored in the home directory.

Does your Mac have a tool for searching for folders called 'Egosoft' anywhere in the system? You might have to disable 'check matching case' or similar.

yes i searched with the main search for x3, egosoft anything. i only have the game folder in applications. i assume the save game is called the same as in windows? "X01.sav" for example. also searched for that. nothing.

The save numbers x00 - x22 .sav in use will depend on the slots you have saved in. The autosaves will be the last 3 (20-22) if applicable. Naturally if you haven't saved any games while playing on the Mac then there will not be any in use.

This post by Nanook suggests that the Library folder (a subfolder of the home directory) is hidden and therefore its content isn't shown when searching for it. Does that by any chance also apply to other sub directories of the home folder?

Is the game fully updated? Was the save modded in any way and have you installed the same Bonus Pack scripts as used before?
