Terran Shield Generator upgrade

So I talked to the station manager lady. She then sent me off to talk to a merchant to buy a shield generator. The guy has 2 types for sale and I have enough to buy one but the slider at the bottom will not move from 0.

It will let me sell the ones I already have, and this did not help.

Any idea how to get past this?

Well I found my own solution.

I edited my save file, added a ton of credits to my account, bought the shield, saved then edited my money back to what it should have been after the purchase. I don't like doing this, but I don't want to sit here stuck till I get a patch.

I guess the problem is the discount. If you don't have 100k you can't buy it even though it's discounted price is 60k. So it thinks you can't purchase it because it uses the regular price...

you sell one of your standars first.

then you buy another one.

this is a bug imo. normaly you should be able to buy one of them and at the same time sell the other as it seems that you can not load more then 2 at the same time.

ive had money for 2 of them but there was no chance getting 2 of them bought even if they had liek 10. maybe that due to the mission where they say theyve got "a" terran shield generator. the ammount the vendor is offering should be changed to 1 and the slider be fixed imo.

This sounds like the most likely culprit. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon in a patch.

What is it called this terran shield gen. I just see the usual ones anywhere can sell usually i dont see a specially named "terran shield generator mk 1" for example.

It is actually an usual one, the plot giving you an upgrade over your basic shields so you understand where you have to go (mechanic) to get upgrades for the Skunk.
