Question on combat missions,AP

You take a combat mission to protect a station,go after someone senister.
Is there anyway to know/find out what race of the person(s),pilot(s) that you will have to destroy??? I mean, you dont know until it comes down. I have or did have good Yaki relations,lol.

You might get a name in the mission which indicates a race though that won't work for Yaki or Pirates.
Just supply 'em with enough booze to offset the inevitable skirmishes involved with interacting with the lowlifes.
Do you miss dangerous pirates?
Try leading the target a little more...

Either get a mod or as Rip already mentioned you will be limited to knowing race but nothing else, can't tell whether it's argon, pirate, yaki or terran or what ever else.

It can be annoying if you are on good terms with yaki/argon/terran. Pirates... useless faction and it's irrelevant whether your reputation is at absolute bottom or at 1 million, they can always be hostile and always piss off your assets and get set as enemy and tank their own rep.

It's always cute when pirates pass through my hub and piss off one of my 20ish wondering around valhallas... real cute.

You can't decrease Argon reputation by doing Defend station mission (if you are enemy of Terran, like my pilot).

To be sure, that mission is necessary for you, save before mission and load saved game, if it is not.

Not necessary to use any mod. I play vanilla X3:Albion Prelude.


As side note:

1 day 10 hours of my own game (Savage Split).
Doing Defend station, Assassination and Return Ship missions I bought:

1 Kestrel (M5)
1 Chimera(M3)
1 Zephyrus (TM)
1 Phantom(TP)
1 Tiger (M7)
1 Cobra (M7M)

Also found sector, where I can clone Flail Barrage missiles, Hammer Heavy torpedo and Boarding pods.

19 marines are training for first boarding operation.

During one of the Defend Station missions 2 Yaki bailed out of Susanowas (Hauler and Raider). I used Chimera with HEPTs.

Although my pilot is enemy of the Pirates, I found Pirate Base, where I had bought Cargo Life Support System for my Cobra.

So either use a mod to take away the guess, or save and reload of it doesn't work out?

Was there anything in particular you wanted from the Yaki?
I don't remember their ships being all that brilliant, were you after IBLs?
Do you miss dangerous pirates?
Try leading the target a little more...

Almost all combat missions require blind acceptance vanilla. Station defence, Assassination, Sector patrol, Escort trade convoy.

Xenon patrol, Hold position (against Xenon), Defend against Xenon -missions do have quite predictable and "reputation ignorant" enemy: the Xenon.

"I want to stop a trade convoy" mission does offer "normal race" targets, for the Pirate and Yaki don't (officially) deploy TS freighters.

All said and done, just build a small complex in Yaki space like... senators badlands? Preferably weed/space fuel manufacturing or both later on. Others come in to buy, they manage to get to station and buy it then they get killed on their way out. You pick your stuff back, their stuff and sell it to the yaki stock exchange station. Tripple your profits and get some rep too.

Maybe he wants the coveted chokaro for trading? But advanced choko is locked behind a plot...
