8/8, 141/150. Knew 6, made educated guesses on the other two.

7/8 and 115 out of 150, same as brucewarren. Speaking of brucewarren, did you do the Dr. Who quiz from last week? :)

No, but I have an excuse.

It's BBC and under the new rules that came in last year I'm not allowed to catchup the shows any more. No Doctor Who for me :(

Now that is a bummer. No license? If so at least there are some you can still watch online eh? ( No I am not suggesting you watch the BBC on the sly, but the likes of UKTV play etc. )

Edit: Does that rule apply to everything on the BBC site, I thought it was just the telly? Surely you can still do the linked quiz? Half of the quiz was the older stuff from the first Doctors...

Well I could listen to Radio 4 I suppose, and I could have done the quiz but if any of it's new stuff I can't watch I'd have been operating under a handicap.

When it comes to what is and what isn't allowed I prefer to play it safe. I'd rather miss out unnecessarily than risk breaking the rules by accident.

Besides the google-box is reputed to rot the brain[1]. Not watching TV could be seen as an opportunity to restore the old grey matter or at least lessen the damage.

[1] I know this because the Oompa Loompas had a song about it and who am I to argue with the wisdom of little guys with orange faces and green hair?

Actually if you did try the quiz, even if you were handicapped, ( which I doubt would be a large handicap, because over half the quiz is Eccleston and before, ) it would give every one else a chance, because you are clearly the forum Dr. Who aficionado. :)

Also I am pretty sure it is just BBC tv you are missing out on. :)

Ok, this'll teach you all for doing better than me last week....

Hard Science & Technology Quiz

Got to recover from marking exam scripts before I do it. Coffee is involved....

Edit: hoist by my own petard... 5/20... :(

You can't even try it twice, because it tells you the right answers when you're done....

I got 13. Two wrong I should have known, and a few of the ones I got right were guesses.

Trouble is I rushed it just to see how the scoring system worked and didn't try too hard, although I didn't know many of the answers. I'm sure I could have done better if i'd taken more time.

I wasn't expecting to see all the answers highlighted, which effectively prevented another try. Well it wouldn't have if I'd thought about it and not read through them like an idiot, but my brain has been dulled by marking after all.

7 / 20 and I'm kicking myself about the answer to question 9. Well I've been reminded what Deuterostomia consists of at least.

15/20. It would have been 16 but I changed my mind at the last moment on one question, from the right answer to a wrong one. D'oh!

14/20. I suck on questions involving random collections of letters. :)

12/20. Some were guesses and some were stuff I feel I should know, or should not have forgotten.

I think most of my ignorance on this one was on the astronomy side.

I've not been keeping up with what systems have neutron stars or planets. Partly this is because of the way they name stuff. What happened to the good old days when planets had actual names instead of strings of incomprehensible alphanumeric characters?

I actually knew the one about how many electrons are in the inner shell. Of course if the quiz had asked precisely why it should be that number I'd have run screaming from the room.
