Death announcements for persons of note

Dead at sixty-seven... Suffering from dementia, etc - A terrible way to go. It's a terror, these days, for those of us marking in time at the front of the line. But, he died from kidney/liver disease, at least... "at least." Sheesh.
He was a teen hearthrob in his hayday and managed to have a career in Las Vegas, at least.
I used to watch the show ("The Partridge Family") when I was a kid. I liked it better than shows like "The Brady Bunch" simply because it was a heck of a lot more complex and interesting. I didn't even know they were a "real band" at the time.

When our (new) team leader announced this to the office today, half of us went, "Aww!" and the other half went, "Who's Keith Chegwin?". Yoof!felter wrote:This ones for us mainly older Brits.

Although both equally sad for family and friends, I was struck by how differently this made me feel than Max Clifford dying yesterday.

We have a large visual collaboration display (a big TV) on the wall in our office - it's times like that a YouTube playlist is required...

Heinz Wolff - Renowned scientist but probably best remembered in the UK by those of a certain age for presenting The Great Egg Race. RIP another hero of my childhood.

Right, this might be the time to finally read some of Ursula K Le Guin.
When discussing SciFi with friends she has long been the biggest name that I have never gotten round to reading.
I really must do so.
