Optimal resolution for a 4K display?
Is there an optimal resolution for 4K displays with X3? I'm currently playing at 1080p which is fine, but if I try any of the higher resolutions currently available it messes with the aspect ratio.
You've not stated which X3 game you are playing, but since you've posted in the X3TC/AP forum I'll assume it's not X3R.
The game itself doesn't mind what resolution you use, but you should choose an aspect ratio that matches that of your screen or you'll get some strange effects.
Since these games use 1:1 pixel mapping for the UI for reasons of clarity, you will probably find that the UI gets rather small if you play at very high resolutions. There is not much you can do about this other than choose whatever resolution gives you a UI that you find readable.
