No sound in window mode

Post by astraorion5 » Wed, 11. Sep 19, 08:43

Hi all!

Is there a solution to the problem that the sound disappears when you run the game in window mode (borderless window)?
Once you press alt tab and switch to another application and later come back in X4, the game becomes silent until you restart it completely.

As this is not a general issue common to all, it may be that whatever other application you are changing to is resetting the sound output type, speaker layout or some other fundamental sound setting in the sound control panel. The X4 game will not recognise those changes (or reset them) until you leave and restart the game.

Hmm interesting. I ussualy just press the windows button and go to chrome, once I come back to X4 sound is muted. Sound settings in Windows remain the same. Could it be a kind of a driver issue? :gruebel:

Are you using any 3rd party game profile application for your X4 gaming (usually from your graphics driver supplier rather than your sound driver supplier)? Are your in-game sound settings different to your Windows sound settings in any significant way?

Without any real system or game information, I cannot comment on your driver etc situation.
