Your lies are not opinions. They're not even your lies, they're your idiot leader's lies.

I don't care how much you want to try to justify the comments of the lemming leader, it won't change anything. He's a racist. You're a racist. End of story.
I'm not a racist. Trump didn't call racists fine people and he condemned those racists in the same interview. I watched that happen. I didn't give you opinion. I gave you the actual words that were spoken. It shows you were wrong. It's not in my power to dictate how you handle that. I grant you the right to disagree with me.

I watched it too, and I watched him call neo-Nazi's very fine people. I really don't care what you say until you're ready to condemn the orange idiot. The thing is, you're in the same company as people like David Duke and Steve King. If the KKK thinks what Trump is doing is a good idea, any decent person would stop and ask themselves if maybe they shouldn't be on their side. But you never did. You continue to support the racist policies and actions of that orange moron, just like the KKK does. You try to justify his every word, blame socialism, blame the press, blame democrats, cry hoax and witch hunt and all of the things you're supposed to do because your leader said do it. Never once did you stop and consider if maybe you were supporting the wrong things to get whatever it is you want, either that or you really do want the president to be a racist. Either way, you're just as culpable as he is, perhaps even more so. Until that clicks for you, your words are as empty as the space between the ears of your idiot in chief.

Well it doesn't really matter what his political ideas are at this moment now does it, with the amount of lies he's told, his stupidity constantly on display coupled with mind-boggling incompetency, his utter negative effect on an already utterly divided country. There's just not anything great about this man. I know plenty of people that are right wing and would in principle agree with what once where Trumps political guidelines (apart from the wall, nobody i've ever met no matter how anti foreigner they are thinks that's a good idea), none of them would want a Trump like figure spearheading their ideas, simply because they don't want to be tossed on the same heap is this orange moron.

The man is just offensively stupid. Trumpians supporting him at this point either are the same, or so full of hate/fear they ignore the stupidity or the lies, either way no reason to respect any of them at this point.

You are so very right. Real republicans are completely baffled at how their party has been upended by this man child. Whatever it is that the Trumpanzies are, it isn't republican.

And then you get Trumpanzies that have dug this pit, look up to those of us who vehemently oppose them and their leader and beg us to come jump in their pit so we can "have civil discourse again", as if it's our job to stoop down to their level. Screw that. Fill the pit with concrete and forget they were ever there.

There is no mystery here. Obamacare pissed people off enough to give the GOP both houses of Congress in 2014. The GOP failed to do anything. They didn't fix the problem. America elected someone who said he would fix it and other issues like illegal immigration. There you have it. Trump said the right stuff to people pissed off at both parties and he said it loudly.

Here we are 3 years later with actual hope in our economy and change in our pockets. There is nothing you can do about the fact that America elected that guy and might do it again. Just accept it as a fact of life and be at peace. I promise you that when democrats inevitably win again that I will not reciprocate the hate and I refuse to do that now. There is nothing on my end stopping you and me from being decent people to each other.

He thinks he's being clever by saying things like "I forgive you" and "there's nothing on my end that's preventing us from being decent towards one another", but I'm not amused and I doubt his act is convincing anyone that he's anything but repugnant. I really don't understand why he or anyone else even believes we should tolerate racism in this day and age, no matter how dressed up it is. A polished turd is still a turd.

I can only wonder at the levels of psychic angst being felt in the US at the moment, given the millions of people suffering from extreme cognitive dissonance.

It is interesting to see how Trumpians respond to critics of Trump, they rarely defend Trump himself rather they defend why they chose him or bring up a whataboutism. We've f.e. accused Trump of blatantly lying several times, but i've yet to see a Trumpian directly deny that, or the hurricane sharpy thing, there's almost no direct defense to found. Same goes for the whole ukraine thing, i don't see many Trumpians denying he actually asked a foreign power to dig up dirt on a political rival, which in itself would send Trumpians into a fit of rage had it been done by a democrat, yet they argue how there was no quid pro quo (which there was) or also incorrectly no laws have been broken. They also stay as far away as possible from the entire swamp Trump brought in (only the best people) that subsequently either got fired by him or pushed out and sometimes incarcerated due to legal reasons.

I can also see how this makes it personal very fast, since they are not defending Trump but themselves, so sadly but naturally the arrows get pointed at them for their personal defence instead of Trump.

And indeed Registerme, what's at the basis of it all seems to be mass cognitive dissonance.

No one likes to think of themselves as a bad person. Even a racist will construct a self-image to justify their bigotry in such a way that they see themselves in a favorable light. Hitler did not think he was evil. Those who supported Hitler, did not see themselves as bad people. That is how the mind works.

Part of the problem, is we have a tendency to externalize our feelings. For example, I see a black/gay/you name it person and I feel rage or discomfort. Is that my fault? Of course not, it is the black/gay/you name it person's fault. How am I expected to overcome my cultural and family conditioning without rejecting everything that I have been brainwashed into thinking is good, right, and honorable and concluding that not only am I full of shit, but my whole family and lifestyle is too?

I found this piece, on the 2020 elections and demographic changes etc quite interesting. In particular the point that there are 45 million non-college educated white males (ie prime Trump territory) who did not vote in 2016.

This has been Trump's strategy all of his life. Never admit failure, never admit fault, blame everyone but yourself, sue if someone calls you out and accuse them of what they accused you of. His base is now following suit.

Racism shouldn't be tolerated, period.

People who do, do so because they feel points made by resists are valid. At that point we discuss ducks and all.
