Post by acrh2 » Tue, 15. Nov 05, 22:08

Do have any idea of the specs?
What type IR, Dumbfire, Seeker?
How fast it?
How does it compare in strength to wasp, silkworm, hornet?

The only use I have found for it so far is buying and selling it. Never used it for combat.

I like them quite a bit. In fact I like them so much that I've built a self-sufficient complex loop whose sole product is free Tempest Missiles to supply my fleet. Basically, they're powerful, easy to use, and quite effective. They are a seeker type missile that, once fired, automatically creates a target priority list for itself. The missile will then automatically home in on its highest priotity target, but if that target is destroyed, it switches its target mid-flight to the next highest priority target. From experience, they tend to target the largest enemy fighter craft in close proximity to the firing point. One missile is easily powerful enough to destroy an M4 by itself. M3s are easy to finish off after being hit by one of them, and they are extreme overkill for M5s. I would assume that their biggest drawback is price, but I get them for free so it doesn't really matter to me.
