Yaki Disruptor

I was just flicking through the waste paper that is the X3 manual and came across mention of a Yaki Disruptor which disables ships engines.

Does this exist in the game?

yes in the form of the disruptor missile.. as for its affect on a ships engine i cant say.. i've never been hit by one...
