Cockpit Graphics none existent

Hey everybody,

I love this game so much, but i have had a cuple of minor problems.
One being there is no Cockpit graphics like in X2. i was wondering if i had a problem or if they just took them out.

and anyone having problems just download the new version and most in not all of mine went away.

No pits in x3. Bernd made a post explaining why somewhere, although I don't have the link so I'll just say Galaxy has managed to get the X2 pits in X3 if that'll plug the gap.

i have been told that egosoft are not putting cockpits in for X3

infomation from that info well thats for you to find out who :wink:

and anyway maybe if everyone complains to egosoft to go create new cockpits for X3 then maybe they will

an for the capital ship bridges seriosly there should be people sitting in thoughs damn chairs an stuff making it look more realistic

I seriously doubt that...

But Galaxy made a good start. Im certain the modders will be able to make custom ones soon enough.

well i do prefer official cockpits

but if egosoft are not gonna bother with it then i have no choice but to get an unofficial one

I am running the "Cockpit recall" mod, and it seems to work (so far). It does seem to reduce fps slightly, though. Maybe that is why they left them out. :)

A lot of reasons have been post.

Let me recall a few:

- Huge amount of work to make cockpits for each and every ship which would fit the design of the ship (Could be considered lazy)
- A lot of people complained about the crappy cockpits in X2 and how much of the screen they took up. (And how ugly they were/non-functional)

people just dont have a taste of realism do they having no cockpit is like driving a convertable with the top open while theres a massive blizzard going on

Egosoft wanted cockpit in X3, but the deadline was too close, they had ONLY two choices, be without cockpits, or make a cockpit for EACH ship. They had to pick the first one. If they put them back in is another story all togeather, but with each patch I'll be here to put them back in if they change the tShip file...

I don't have too much of a problem with the 'pits... my biggest problem is the menu system...

xeon the whole point of it being a space sim is to make it feel more real for you and if thats what you want why dont you jettison your body into outta space an i am pretty sure you'll find out what its like really

if egosoft didnt have time to put them in then they can finish off with the performance upgrades atleast right now and then get straight to work on them cockpits becuase this is pethetic

Ya'know I've got a sneaky suspicion that they will reappear officially via some sort of "expansion".

I mean... think about it!?
-Short Storyline.
-Slightly Grumpy Community due to bad release and bugs.
-No Cockpits.
-No Player Logo (I have the feeling this could be out for good though).
-And probably tons of stuff.

It would make logical thinking to release an expansion with:
-Bigger Story-line.
-Good Release.
-Return of Better Cockpits.
-Possible but unlikely return of Logo (unless it's planned for a patch)
-More Stuff.

I could be wrong but it just seems right.

If only capital ships had an interior bridge view i would be exstatic, i didnt particularily like the old cockpits, they were retro and unsightly, large big buttons flashing at you, yuck.

But those capital ship bridges really immersed you in your massive lumbering beast, surrounded by moniters, various readouts and displays (and a fair amount of floor space) It was ok that you couldnt see as much, the captian of a cruise liner doesnt have the luxury of seeing everything from the bridge either.

I am sure that this is NOT what EVERYONE in the community wants. I much rather them work on X3 then adding Muiltplayer support, no not even making Lan is easy.
