Monsters/Creatures living in Deep Space (like the Space Flies) possible?

Yes it´s me again with another weird idea :)

There are Space Flies in the game living in deep space - would it be possible to add monsters/creatures that live and hide in space like them? Imagine some kind of large dragon like creature that might even attack your ship! =)

This SHOULD be possible. or not?

donno if you can skin bones in X3 so you can't make it really look like it is living... but we can see what we can do when we get the offical X3 graphics modding tools. :twisted:

well, that "dragon" doesn´t need much animation, maybe more like those traditional chinese festival dragons look and move.

I am starting to learn the script language but it will take a LONG time to create good scripts (not "HEY I can understand the script, now on to my own universe"-like scripts) - so if anyone knows the script (cycrow? :)) maybe he can create such a thing!! This would add so much retro 80´s sci-fi fantasy flair =)

Even with scripts, you need us graphic modders to make the model and scene file to even get it into the realm of scripts. ;)

i have never seen space flys :( but couldnt you just mod the behavior of the space flys so they attackk your ship?

I've not seen them in X3 yet. They were all over the place in X2 though.

ohh i have an idea: for information on the creatures you have to do really hard missions for the BB tyhen you get the clew as to where to look next

Could you not spawn a spacefly, but with modified scale properties so it's 20x it's normal size? A TS-sized spacefly would certainly grab your attention, and probably destroy more than just your jumpdrive if it hit you.

i dont know if this will work but can you set somethigns engagment range to 0 so it will rush in and slam into you then make a ware to have fitted onto said critter so it doesnt take damage from colisions?

This WILL be done - somehow - I don´t know how but I won´t rest until we have this in there =)

mmh.. nice Idea with the scaled spaceflies.. then with the right tool we could just replace their model with a LARGE DRAGON LIKE MONSTER and then change the bbs a bit - FINISHED! Can´t wait.......

You have to change that in the body file. But it's really easy - just one number. The bigger the number, the bigger the model :D

The idea is really good. I'm just not too sure if it's doable :cry:

But fact is that you can make the "creature" use the same movement as X2 Dolphin. That was very "worm like" :)

How about importing worms from... emh "Worms" :lol: Those would be ENEMIES.

sounds good :)

well as far as spawning it into the universe and adding BBS news events about it is do able, however the control of it might be slightly harder to accomplish and how it might interact with the player

of course, would need to know the purpose of having it in the universe, weather it justs sits there as a kind of decoration, or if it will actaully have something else to do
