X3 weapon stats : Lasers & Missiles

OK, so I'm playing a new game and first I want to know what the things I use there actually DO. Weapons and shields for a start...

I found no real info other than vague or HTML (not editable for printing) charts so I broke down and made my own. It's 1.3 accurate.

Laser and Missile chart (XLS)

The biggest problem for me were the missiles. What do these ACTUALLY do? The manual is so vague on the topic it must have been written by a politician.

I mean, how do swarm missiles work? Do they really split into submunitions or is that only a story element and they simply have a large blast radius? If they split, then when? Into how many? At launch? At impact, proximity x, or whatnot?
Only the Blizzard actually has stats for the submunition missiles.

Is the manual even correct on the classification of the dumbfire missiles? The synaptic triggered ones actually have a turn radius...

The editor (Many thanks for that one, Sir!) listed 2 unknown fields for missiles that might have something to do with the guidance / type flags so I included those on the missile chart so someone might hopefully make sense of this.

I tried to interpret the manual as best as I could in inserting guidance and swarm type.

Any errata should probably be added here to avoid doubled efforts.

The swarm missules actually break into smaller missules to strike their targets (in 1.2 they did anyways wasps looked awesome, haven't tried in 1.3 as i'm busy empire building).

Dumbfire missules i have no use for so i have as of yet never fired one (can't shoot that well with laser guidance let alone trying to shoot at something without it).

Is that the thing that isn't active in game yet I read something about in modding?

The hammerhead (unknown missile) does more like 1M dmg. It's almost similar to the beluga.

At least the X2 has a cutscene that is shown when you build a station. Small drones flying around the skeleton of the new station, occasionally welding something with tiny lasers. I believe that the drones are in the ship list and their welding laser is the "Repair laser".

I have not fired wasps from a large distance (so far I've only used them from a max of 3km out), but they fire as 6-8 separate missiles all at once. I am also fairly positive that they are treated as separate missiles, as well. With my Wasp being the only missile in the air against a group of pirates, I could hear about 5 of them (maybe more) detonating either from being shot down or actually hitting the target.

Well, I included all weapons, just in case. Not gunna redo everything just because someone (like me =) decides to actually use it.

On one station in the vicinity of 6,6 I saw a BBS message of them offering station repairs in this sector, apparently using the afforementioned drones thingies with them thar lasers. But everything beyond that BBS message is assumption.

Ok, but the 1.3 game files disagree.
I'll eventually find out what's right when I stumble across the missiles and something big enough to survive getting hit with either.

Thanks for the info on swarms. Only halfway up through the combat ranks after 1 good day played so theres still LOTS to see and try. And mucho dinero to make.
...and a new X36 button layout to program. Oh my. So many buttons. And hats. And switches. And trims. And layers thereof.
You could write a letter with this joystick if you programmed all keys. And interpunctacion. And aaaargh.

Anyway, the money is somewhere out there. Gotta go.

Gazz, does the Kyon weapons actually came into the game. Can you buy them is what I mean? Also the unknown missile can kill M6 and 8 escort M3's around it, so I tend to agree with your data. Also who uses the B pulsed beam emmiter 2?

Khaak shoot you with those all the time so you just need to find a friendly Khaak equipment dock or somesuch...

I don't know where you got the numbers for the Hammerhead, but they are way, way too low. One Hammerhead can take out a fully-shielded Mammoth with no problem. And 5 can take out the pirate base in Brennan's Triumph. And that thing has shields and hull values many, many times larger than what you've listed for the Hammerhead. (I've done it, in 1.3.) The Hammerhead stats should be similar to the Firestorm and the Beluga.

Edit: Also, the speed is too fast. If I fire one from my Nova Raider, I have to slow way down first, or I outrun it.

i'll exchange my missile bay for a APPC in the middle of my centaur...give it that Homeworld Ion Frigate look...(than gain 1 Appc and 11 Mds might be....overkill.....NAWWWWWW)

What kind of a weapons list is this? Is it supposed to be for Reunion or Terran Conflict? I can't correlate them to anything in game (TC).
