System Override software

How does the system override software work? I can't find anything about it. Is it just for looks until some as yet unexplained update?

You find it at Pirate Bases.
Its illegal to have one, so watch where you go with it.

It works by replacing the need to spacewalk to claim a ship. You just fly up close and press a button. It can be mapped to any button, I have mine on the joystick.

There is a Mk2 claims software available if you install the script. Its 10 times the price, but isnt detectable, so you wont have the hassels in main sectors. It also works up to 5km away. It expensive, but well worth it if you intend to do a lot of ship claiming.
