Why do you need hornets for that?

But in anycase they are found in High Yield missile complexes along with firestorm torpedoes if I remember right.

There's a high yield factory in Merchant haven (8 ,19)
Most pirate ships drop hornets after death.
As do Yaki ships.
And most TL assassination missions end up with dropped hornets too.

The GOD destroyed the hornet factory that the Paranid had in P/Prime, Its now replaced it with 2 HEPT factories, which is good for me, at least.

To be honest the hornets are too slow and easily shot down, unless your target does'nt have a rear turret, and is slow enough for the hornet to catch.

Also you might try using them up close to a TL, on a side that is'nt protected by turrets.

If you do find a high yield factory with none in stock, then check the barter side of the BBS, you can usually get them there if your rep is high enough to buy them.

Ok, just ran it, and OMG!!!! There are NO places selling Hornet missiles in my universe, I checked aurora missiles just to make sure it was still working, and they only had 2 outlets.

So I gotta build some factories for em, I guess you may have to aswell if Jolly_roger_uk's ones dont exist in your game.

Soz I can be of no more help :(

Why use Hornets? Thunderbolts and Tempests are bigger, better, faster and longer-ranged. I find Hornets to be almost worthless in X3. To be effective, you have to almost be on top of the target to hit it; otherwise, the target will either outrun it or shoot it down. But if you're that close, you'll take damage from the missile blast yourself.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

X4 is a journey, not a destination. Have fun on your travels.

go to (EDIT Mi Ton's should have been) Moo Kyes Revenge and kill all the pirates, I sold dozens to the Equipment Station next door for more cash, as well six-ish unknown objects, well worth the dog fights. Fun too.

Thunderbolts and tempest's and silkworms in Argon Prime.
Silkworms in Ceo's sprite, Tornados in Equip dock in Seizewell.
Check out the equip dock in Depths of Silence too.
And you could try going into a Xenon sector and blasting a few L's they generally drop a few hornets and hammerheads.

You can buy a thunderbolt missile fab from Cho's defeat (I think) make your own thats what I do.

What I REALLY want is a hurricane fab I can buy, don't think it exsists in the game!

Simple math tells me that to just take down the shields of a Khaak destroyer (10GJ = 10,000MJ) with Thunderbolt missiles (75MJ) you would need 10,000/75 = 133 Thunderbolts, which would cost ~ 8,000cr x 133 = 10.6 million cr.

Therefore:

1) Can you really hope to find 130+ thunderbolts in NPC stations?
2) Can you afford it?
3) Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy 11 x Firestorm = 11 x 80,000cr = 880,000 cr + some number of millions for an M6 which you can sell later of you want.

Just use the capitol ship rear turret trick if you "have" to take down a khaak destroyer... otherwise, let It go till you gots a big ship for yourself... you may also try a couple unknown's (hammers and the like) into its arse if you just have to kill it. Khaak destroyers unlike there xenon counter parts are typically properly shielded and definately armed to the teeth... mono a mono IMO without using a gimmick to kill, are the toughest single thing in the game to neutralize. On another note... depending on how your game is seeded some facts could be practically anywhere; or out of commission all together, best bet for the long term would be to just seed "your" universe with satellites and look around the galaxy for what you want.
