System override software

I saw "System Override Software" at a pirate station and it sounded pretty interesting. I'm too lazy to actually board the place and buy it to find out on my own... Could someone lemme know what it's purpose is?

if you buy it you no longer have to get out your ship to claim an empty one, you just park right next to it and claim it.

2 downsides are it costs 600,000 :o and it is illegal. get caught carrying it and you are in trouble. you can get scripts for a legal one though

Lets you claim ships without getting out of your ship.
Sound pretty useful? Wrong
It's illegal to carry so if you get scanned in possession of it you're in trouble. Pretty useless overall.
