ON TOPIC... XT anomoly - Screen shots

Post by Firebird » Sun, 10. Nov 02, 12:14

I had a Nvidia MX440 card in the PC which I recently updated to a Ti4600. :)

When I fly round the Argon sectors with weapons factories in, I notice that theres a 3rd leg hanging down beneath the entrance portal to the factory. :?

I had never seen this with the MX440 card considering I've played the game since it came out (a lot) I'm surprised I should notice such an odd thing so late.

Oh yes the machine software hasn't changed its the same as it was 6 months ago apart from the new NVidia drivers etc.

My question is; could there be something wrong with the video card? everything else works great, windows, the X game in general, graphics progs and the wicked NVidia graphics demos are OUTSTANDING.

EGOSOFT.. whats your thoughts?

IIRC all weapons producing facts have four "legs" as it were, one in all corners. It may well have been that the settings for optimum usage on your old card wasn't good enough for this! Have you altered the detailing in the options menu for XT?

I have just toured 4 of the races and looked a several different types of weapons factories and there are many variations on a leg..... so to speak

The Telardi mostly have 4 legs and the front 2 rotate
The Argon mostly only have 2 legs or in my case 3 aswell on Space Missile Factories
The Parnid seem to have 4 legs which are stationary
The Boron seem mostly to have only 2 legs at the back.

Theres varying amounts of advertising, the Argon one in CB SE is the most decorated I've seen

And theres are a number of variations on a theme, therefore I dont think your statement is very accurate really. I checked and I have the blur and skins things ticked aswell

Maxx out the graphics settings of X and ensure that you card is working correctly... I'll just recreate the shot...

OK... it's normal.... very strange... but normal!

Hey I've been playing this game since it came out a dozen or more times and never ever noticed it until a couple of weeks ago.

Surprises from a game thats 18 months old...... WOW :)

Just goes to show we dont pay that much attention to what we see on the screen.

Strange and very weird.
