Mass Driver....how about MD Cannons?

If the Argon and split are able to produce a fighter weapon, then why not an Alpha, Beta, Gamma MD Cannon. Give it the benefit of passing through shields and causing only hull damage. The range/damage could be something less than PPCs. The shot speed could also be faster than a PPC. This would spawn new forges. The ammunition factories could be a one size fits all and leave it up to the class of cannon to determine shot rate, speed and damage. The down side would be stocking all the ammo for the cannon.

now thats the way to think...

im all for mass drivers, i intend to completly outfit my python with mass drivers, this would be a great idea, alfa for picking off the pesky fighters and gamma for blowing the hell out of cap ships.

you should go on the mod forum and present your idea there...

who knows could be done!

Mass Drivers are chain guns, and i'm not sure, but a giant gattling gun might just be corney. how about a railgun, not gonna have to worry about projectile speed with one of those.
