X2 Khaak M5 and Kyons in household
I've capped a few, sold 'em all but one, and spared two Kyons from them.. It's an awesome M5, but those Kyons cost 840K, so I'm concerned: should I sell one of 'em as I already have ~500K and then buy a Nova, or a spare Kyon could come in handy?
The one M5 I left for myself is currently fully upgraded so is a great M5/4 capping tool btw..

Rofl X2's choice of pure fighting way of self-advancement is even easier then in X3 - capping armed Khaaks brings u one ideal capping device (after reparing and upgrading) and lots of k$ for the others (~850k per cap - isn't it fun? ) So I now have a Nova, starting Discoverer and the Khaak M3, all three fully upgraded.. (just bought Nova, also capped another M5 with Kyon to sell to get bHEPTs and shields so can consider Nova fully upgraded )
Stick some Silkworms in your KM5 and go do assassination missions, you can kill early targets (TP's) no problem.
Then if you can get your Nova in sector and both dock at a station, when you emerge in the Nova the escort ships will be nosing around at half speed, easy pickings for a 'slowish' M3 If you transport over to the Nova in full view then they attack you ( or so I have found )
After the TP stage protected by 4x M4's then replaced by M3's as you progress, the target then uses a M5 to dock with an M6 escorted by 4xM3's replaced eventually by 4x M6's, however the target goes back to the M5 at the destination sector and can be killed before they dock, the KM5 is faster than all but Peggy and I haven't seen one of those maxxed either.

The fact of KM5 carrying Silkworms I already figured out - used 'em to blow a few pirate ships for a test - worked like a charm, especially if u properly use the strafedrive As for assasination missions I prefer to attack alone (at least it worked great in X3) - M5's are too fragile and I want to spare that one just because I flew it for a long time All the other KM5 I just sold as I prefer a KM5 and Nova to 3 KM5's
BTW!! The KM5 is awesome for pirate patrol assaults - u can lure a bit away the m5 and kill or cap it in no time, then if he is accompanied by a single m4 u can get it with Kyon.. M3s are for Silks -- and the Khaak clusters can be pwned too btw - just wait for it to attack someone but you, and then start distracting and killing or capping M5s one by one - a KM5 1on1 fight can be easily won without any missile launches from your side..
Yeah, I love my KM5 and have 'bout 7 others, some with wasps, others dragonflys or silkworms, try catching a KM3 using wasps and silkworms, got 2 so far with weapons too!
Wish you could get better formations, think the set ones aren't as good as Homeworld ones.
