So I picked up that "System Override" software, but have absolutely no idea what it does, would someone be able to fill me in on it?

It makes the 'claim' option available from the cockpit of your ship, when an unclaimed ship is targetted (in other words you don't need to eject from your ship anymore in order to claim something). Nothing more. In fact, it's considered an illegal ware in policed space, you'll get nothing but trouble from having it. You still have to get damn close to the ship you want to cap, too.

Thanks for the help, I tabbed back in and ejected it. I foolishly thought it was a way to forcibly eject pilots :P

I'd spent 15-20 minutes trying to use it on Argon One...

Which brings me to another question, are all ships cappable?

Normal race M5/M4/M3/TP/TS you can capture (if the bilot bails).
All other ships, the pilots/crews won't bail (without the HAT/capture script).

Khaak: pilots won't bail, period, from any ship class.
Xenon: M3/M4/M5 will bail. Ps, no. A K is possible (from reports) at a very high combat level during a Xenon Taxi mission.


As a general rule:
M3, M4, M5, TP, TS, you can.
M6, TL, M1, M2, you can not.

Damn, I was looking forward to capturing Khaak ships, I'll have to get a mod which changes that.

system override can be useful, because you can do a pass at full speed and still claim the ship, but the illegality means it isn't really worth it. I keep it on a docked ship in my TL, and transfer it over when I need it.
