The Khaak pronounciation phenomenon is restricted to a small minority of accents, which either pronounce a slang term for male genitalia in a particularly accented way, or say Khaak in one. Those that came up with the name are almost certainly not of one of those particularly-accented people.
For most people it's Khaak, as in Khaki, a fabric of a certain colour.
Rumour has it that "X²: The Threat" was originally "X²: The Khaak Threat", until someone English pointed out that the title meant "X²: The not-very-good, a-bit-rubbish-really Threat".

Well think of a female voice saying khaak with the a pronounced like o in ought If you dont have the verbose voice turned off in Khaak sectors in X3 that can get quite disturbing........It always annoyed me that the game over pronounces the R, as in karrk
I'll admit that I may be wrong, but I'm pretty damn sure I'm right.
