SETA 1000% , does it work without problems?

Post by X3_Xenon » Sat, 20. Jan 07, 20:24

Hello!

I have a question about the SETA function.
I have it set on 600% but if I set it on 1000% is the time going to fast for the game. I mean does it jump over things and so, does it work correctly?

Thanks!

It works fine for me on seta 10x

I imagine the only restriction will be your pc and video card. Why not try it out and see?

True. The only restricting factor is your computer specs.

I've tried SETA 10x, but in busy sectors that led to many collisions. Lowered it to 8x, and have not noticed any more collisions. Except for my Starburst vs an XL SPP :|

It's probably, like "most" of X3, CPU dependant. Not GPU.

I have an AthlonXP 3200+ with 2GB RAM and a 7800GT. And although everything seemed to run just fine with 10x, the AI did crash into objects alot more than at 8x.

I have an Athlon 3.2GHz 64-bit dual core, a Radeon X850 (128mb IIRC) and 1G ram... the only framerate problems II have are with very large complexes (not even the number of stations in a sector, just when they are in a complex of 10 or more stations), and mass amounts of PPC fire...

i always use SETA 10 X.

However, on my crappy PC, when i activate SETA during a fight, enemy ships miss me more :D

Yes having seta run makes the amount of shots fired go down.

Why on earth are you using SETA in the middle of a firefight anyway? :gruebel:

Not to mention it's good for recharging your weapons with a smaller chance of getting hit...

im starting to experience a lot of slowdown OSS when on seta x10
not sure what it is, but OSS ships just... freeze, and occasionally move a bit, then freeze again. in-sector its relatively fine, but it'l take my ship LONGER to go from point a to b than if i set it to 8x

not sure why, as this didnt used to happen

Athlon XP 2600+ cpu prob isnt helping there

Are you sure that the OOS viewing screen is just taking time to refresh itself? When you are viewing a sector you are not currently in, the screen itself does not update at the same fps rate as the navigational view of your current sector...
