time triggered? so its a question of you having enough cash when the time comes up? i dont like that.. on the bbs the bids are already over 100,000,000 and It'll take me a whiel to stockpile that kinda cash... I'm a spender.

Once the auction triggers you have at least 5 game days to find the cash so it shouldn't be a problem. The starting bid when you can start bidding is 615 million (which is also what I got it for, others have had to pay more and IIRC the highest I've heard of anyone paying is around 900 million).

So how does owning a sector benefit you?

It doesn't. But it is nice to know you own it. You can place factories/HQ, etc in that sector without owning it, but if by the time you get to bid for it, you have Billions, then spending 600,000,000 - 900,000,000 won't worry you anyway.

I am in my second game start and have just reached Day 7, so the Bid has triggered for me. I have 1.4 Billion Cr. So, I will definitely be bidding for the hell of it.
