I love the Phased Shockwave Generators.
They are good to blast everything on they'r way.

They are great for stripping shields on m1's when you fly the M7 in assassination missions.
I use them less and less in my Odysseus as I rather like the AFLAK's. However I still let lose the GPSG's of war on occasion.
Because of friendly fire the PSG always had to be used with care and consideration that is why I am still slightly miffed that it's range was diminished. Never saw the point in complaining about friendly fire from a weapon of mass devastation. What bugged me in X2 was the idiot AI of scoutship patrols that would rush in to scan you -mid battle- while all your guns where blazing at some nefarious villain.
Still all ancient history now!

Perseus Raider? trying to remember what that one looks like. Been messing around with Perseus Sentinels and used to use a Vanguard all the time in fact it is still showing as my favourite ship in the statistics. the Vanguard one looks like a tubby Dolphin (The animal not the Boron spaceship).
EDIT maybe I'll just log off and go check round the Paranid shipyards.
Must admit haven't used PSG's much iin fighters in X3 for some reason.

I think Vanguard and Raider look about the same.
Dont remember the difference now, but Raider has nice firepower and is quite fast - around 160 m/s. The ship itself is size of Buster - quite small for M3.
BPSG fired from 4 points strip M6s and TLs armor like nothing, and you dont need to worry about missile spammers. Even 1 BPSG can cause a lot of damage, especially considering the energy cost.
In friendly space I switch to 4 APSGs .
that doesnt sound right. Perhaps the turret will open fire when BHEPT is in range, but GPSG still should be out of rangeMærifer wrote:About 1,4 km. But try putting one HEPTB between them, they'll fire much longer.Psirus wrote:What is the range on a G PSG?

No, I assure you, they actually hit further than they are supposed to hit, try yourself.fiksal wrote:that doesnt sound right. hm I will.Mærifer wrote: No, I assure you, they actually hit further than they are supposed to hit, try yourself.
I dont have anything with GPSG though... so I can try it on my Perseus Raider.
Does it happen when AI is firing from a turret? when you are firing from a turret? or when you are firing the main guns?

I use 8xIonD and 4xG-PSG on my M7 to wipe out clusters that are away from the friendly ships and stations.

I've tried the lighter ones with Perseus/Medusa/Nemesis. Works against station, but never got them to affect a Xenon horde at the rate I can reach with HEPTs.
But Oddy. I have it for GPSG. Only used in Xenon Taxi missions. With intention to maim, not kill.
