someone who's good with making mods should make it so you can script in the 'unknown object' (aka ufo) so that it's pilotable and that it has a cockpit!

harlock, you could probably make a really cool ufo model. . . . it'd be fun to fly one!

Exactly! Please someone make a pilotable ufo. Theres ufo mod for x3 but we need one for x2 too! U could also add shields and some weapons. Khaak weapons would match. Ufo could be classified as a m3 ship.

Or...why not keep it the M5 that it is, but increase its speed, so that its the fastest thing in the universe, and has only 1 MW of sheilding, and one Akyon emitter.

That would be good too. The speed of ufo in x2 is 600m/s and it should be changed to about 1100m/s (the speed of paranid pegasus is 1009 m/s).

UFO

class: m5

shielding: 1mw

weapons: 1 beta kyon emitter on top of the ufo as an automatic turret.

speed: 1100m/s

dang, if it got hit buy a stray ghept blast when you're in it, you're toast!

if it's going to be 1mw, i think he should have at least 3x1mw.

2x5mw would be better!

part of the game is all of the parts of the ship must balance. so if you want fast speed you need to give up either, weapons, shielding or cargo space. and i think that this should be used in the mods as well.

yea, but still, the pegasus can travel at 1009 mps, but it still has 3x1 mw, so why does it have to be 1x1mw??

i see your point. i was referring to having the 5MW shields in the ship. if the size of the cargo bay was trimmed maybe. the 3MW of shielding would work.

1100 m/s is very fast speed for x2 ship and beta kyon emitter is pretty powerful weapon for m5 class ship so shielding should be low. 3x1 mw is good, but no more because it would be unbalanced.

I reckon it would still be better with 1 MW sheilding...it would be very testing when you get fired at, you wouldnt be able to take any hits, it would be incredibly fun...

yeah, but you'd last about 2 seconds if a pirate came along and shot at you, and that would suck!

Thats the fun...and anyway, at 1100 m/s, what pirate would catch you? And again, anyway, you can dodge incoming fire you know? I do it in my Perseus...and thats not that small, is it?

Well, m5 class ships are generally not used to fight anyone, and when top speed is 1100 m/s you could escape easily. By the way, who could make this ufo mod? I really want to fly one!

Request it in one of the mod threads, or make a specific request for it, that way you wont have to download a whole mod if you dont want to.

I know what you mean, I supertuned a disco to 1345 m/s, it was untouchable...except that time I got a bit cocky and flew too close to the xenon K, and pulled up too late...getting a facefull of PPC fire isnt the most fun way to go...

yeah, one time i used the script editor to make a khaak scout travel at 24679 mps! i flew through a xenon sector, and now touched me, but i wasn't looking where i was going, and whamo-right into the shipyard.

as we are talking about desining ships, how do you design one? I already have got a 3d programm for it, but I can't find the X² textures of the ships :shock: (Wings, body,...) where can I find them? would be glad about having help!! :D :D
