I approach it in my suit and when just 3 meters away I hit the eject button again, nothing happens

Yep, I finally got it and man it goes wicked fast. I am trying to locate a triptic? scanner, the big scanner, and uses it as my explorer. I have an elephant loaded with 9 Novas 3 Eclipse and my little starburst, and we are all out and about exploring the galaxy....and ridding it of filthy pirates, good times!

I don't think you'll be able to fit a Triplex scanner to a Starburst--requires M class freight, Starburst only takes S. Duplex ought to work fine, though.

Yes I found this out as well after flying to Boron Space to get a Triplex Scanner. "Sorry we don't carry your size".

But now after getting that taste of speed can anyone mention the fastest ships that can handle M cargo.

I also would love to have such a ship with a Triplex Scanner and a Jumpdrive installed.

Best

Discoverers :)

I fly one to explore with, its got a little jump drive and enough e-cells to jump quite a distance :) Of course it also has a triplex scanner.

Or, more specifically, Discoverer Raiders, to be found at the shipyard in Light of Heart (possibly the best name for a sector, ever)

If all you actually need is the Triplex, Pirate Harrier Raider is faster--only takes S freight, but it comes with a triplex scanner as default equipment. Discoverer Raider is the fastest that will take a jumpdrive, though (430-something m/s).

I wouldn't trade my Disco Raider for any M5, because of the jump-drive capability.
Off topic- Light of heart is a good name for a sector, one of my favs is Light Water. I never knew what it meant till one night at the fridge getting a drink I saw it on the dispenser in the door: Ice- Light- Water.

Actually, I think Light Water might refer to radioactive water or something.

The Arrow is faster than the Starburst, by the way, if you want even more speed.

Does nobody ever read the sector descriptions in the Universe Map? Light Water is called that because the main planet in the sector has vast oceans and also has fairly low gravity...

The starburst is a fun ship to buzz around in. But that's all it can do. The Jaguar raider is my prefered recon ship (596m/s and has triplex). Still use the Disco raider for littering Satellites around the map when needed.

I am not sure how old this post is, and i'm sorry if I necro it, but seeing as it was top result in one of my google searches I am going to go ahead and do it. The Kestrel is much faster then any of the Discoverer variants, and it is also able to hold M cargo, triplex scanner and jump drive. The small cargo bay makes the jump drive less useful, but you will always run into that problem with these fast ships. If your goal is a fast ship with triplex/jump capability then the Kestrel is definitely my suggestion.
