Drilling system - ore collector?

I'm about to buy my first drilling system so i got some questions:
1.I must have the drilling system and the ore collecter toghether?
2.How do i use then the drilling system i use it as a weapon or something?
3.Can i drill silicon as well as ore right?
4.Is mineral drilling worth it?

do the roids definately respawn and approx how long will it take to do so?

They defintely do respawn. I haven't tried making a study of when they do so, or if they they respawn identical copies. It's next on GRR Corporation's agenda now that we've finished opening a new branch in Trinity Sanctum.
