first XI mission I didn't do

Post by gfurm » Wed, 31. Oct 07, 16:01

well it was in scale plate green, I tried few times but framerate was terrible, tried lowest possible settings and I couldn't get above 10 FPS!! it was like watching slideshow. damn rocks everywhere.

I did demo benchmark on my fullscreen settings 1440x900 and I had averaged 40 fps, but in normal gameplay (windowed or fullscreen) at 1024x768 I usually have around 20fps. is it normal for Athlon 3500+, 2 GB ram and geforce 8600 GTS??

Did you double check your Graphics card settings? Make sure your AA and AF settings are either set to Off, or let the program decide.

I'm scared to see what will happen on my comp, i've only got a Athlon 64 3200, 2gb, 6800GS

I sound like a broken record (CD) saying this all the time, but what soundcard are you using? I had much less stutters when I turned off integrated sound and used a seperate soundcard.

is there PPC fire? If so......... that could be bad for everyone. PPC fire kills people. And machines. And your framerate.

im using onboard sound card.

and yes there was a lot of PPC, from my python and some other M2.

but I think it was caused by the rocks. I have no such problems in Xenon sectors, it's still around 20fps but it's playable.

that's odd.
didnt measure my fps, but I might be getting that at around on 1680x1050 resolution, in a heavy firefight with Xenon
(without PSGs in the area)

hm... I suppose I should check at some point

my PC is Athlon AMD X2 4200+. 2GB Ram, geforce 7800GTX KO

Seriously, try disabling the integrated sound in the BIOS and see what happens. It was almost like it would interfere with the normal processor scheduling of the game (100% usage typically) when using integrated sound. A dual core machine might not have this problem, but I don't know.

Don't bother doing a XI in SPG with PPC's. You'll kill your computer almost every time. I usually use a cheat script to kill the ally destroyer. My computer is a little delicate on PPC fire, even overclocked. It makes the game run so much smoother without them firing PPC's at everything that moves.

I have an AMD athlon 2600 with an n6600 graphics card and it will do XI's albeit shoddily.

The trick is to use the SETA as much as possible. PPC fire dries up under the great time squish.

Before doing an XI in SPG get rid of all those little rocks. Mobile mine them or, as I do, use a script that removes every last pebble in the galaxy. Many systems end up looking better after this is done.
that Pluss a slight tweak to PPCs makes running XI missions in SPG possible and my system dates back to 2004.

Mobile mining is a good preparation for that sector.

"Quick" Green Plate Invasion:
1. Clear X347.
2. Group of 5-6 M6, armed with Typhoons. GMS Hotkey "Group Launch Missile" one time at every K. (Bit of lag from all the warheads, but hang on.)
3. Finish K's with your personal favorite M5,M4,M3,M3+,M6,M7
4. Jump to X347 and deal with J's.
Goner Pancake Protector X
Insanity included at no extra charge.

The other thing I ahve just done is change the PPC spec to fire hept bullets. This would improve the framerate a lot in sectors where ppc fire is a major factor.

And yes, I've upped the priority on clearing SPG of debris.

It also helps if you use the no fog mod, for places like getsu fune.
