Ok. Dumb question.

I searched and got this post... But...

What software upgrade do I need, and how do I collect Spaceflies in a Demeter?

You need a Spacefly Collector and an Ion Disuptor. Zap the buggers with the ID, and while they're stunned quickly run them over with your shields down.

WARNING if they wake up they can do serious damage to your ship!

Ok.

Demeter can't be a Space Fly collector. Duh.

Is there a script that can accomodate this task with an appropriate ship OOS?

Ask in Scripting and Modding. I'd be inclined to doubt any such thing has been written because spacefly collecting was never a particularly profitable activity...

Hmm dont know about that.
I've made quite a few bob out of collecting spaceflys.
All as I use is my nova fitted with ID's And BHEPT and ofcourse a splace fly collector.I use my nova for just about everything capping,mining and spacefly hunting sometimes I'm doing all three at once thats how versitile that ship is.
If I'm attacking say a pirate ship and I cap it and at the same time a flock of spaceflys comes arround I will just switch back to my ID's and start zapping the buggers then just scoop them up as you would collect any other cargo.
As there only small you can get a lot in the hold of your nova.
Oh and using a nova for mining you need hornet missiles as well as you cannot fit a mining lazer to a nova but hornets come free if you keep attacking pirate TS's
