There are hidden crates throughout the vurse but there is another way to get them. I just did a bbs mission to kill someone and as loot i got one. I only got 1 but thats better than no other way than crates to get them.

Four ways of getting CIGs.

1: Hidden crates scattered in X. Limited supply.

2: Captured pirate ships will sometimes have one fitted. Very Rare.

3: Droped loot in Assassination missions. Never seen more than three drop.

4: Treasure hunt missions. Kinda rare here.

I've seen race M1/M2s firing CIGs also. Never blown one up to check if they ever drop them though.

Don't think it's worth the race reuptation hit to do it unless you're already hated. Too bad the Sheild hacker doesn't work here even if the CIGs arn't mounted.

I use them always on my rear turret, and set the command on 'attack'. Hostile ships flying behind you will never be able to hit you whatever lasers they have, because they are constantly bumped in all directions. Quite handy.
