Just wondering. Keep getting those messages to give them credits and pick some numbers. Has anybody won before?

In the personal informations creen it lists

"Lottery Tickets Bought"
"Lottery Jackpot's Won"

It can eb assumed you can win but I dont know if anybody can or actually has. Im sure Egosoft didnt forget to put it in *Cough cloaking device Cough*

I did wonder at one point if you could "time travel" to cheat at the lottery. ie. wait until the draw has occured then go back and pick the correct numbers. The problem being is that they only sell a limited range of numbers to choose from so there's no guarantee the winner will be amongst them.

I imagine the odds of winning are comparable to a real-life lottery--in other words, you ain't all that likely to win! Just look at the jackpot you get if you do--there wouldn't be much to the game if the 3rd lottery ticket you bought won you enough for a capital ship, would there?

Plus, unless you are dedicated to the trading side, the game is pretty much over at that point. You can simply purchase enough firepower to win every plot battle until the end of the game.

Someone mentioned a few weeks back that they won the lottery. The person was commenting about having an M1 or M2 already and someone questioned him about cheating and he said he had won the lottery.

Another interesting question. Is there only the jackpot to win? Or are there smaller sums one can win as well. Just like a real lottery where you can win anything from a couple of bucks all the way to the big jackpot. That would make the lottery even more interesting. And maybe even be able to win things, like a brand new Nova or whatever

Oh, the answer is simple! Egosoft knew they rushed this horrid game out the door, and so they put code in to have the lottery be very winable in the first few days after release, in hopes it would make people overlook all the terrible bugs and design decisions!!!!!11

No seriously, I love the game, and don't believe any of that for a moment, but it fits with the tone of MANY people who have posted here in the last few weeks

Sometimes on mine, it says that number "$prev_num" (or something like that) won, but the jackpot wasn't taken. Don't ask me, I have no idea.

@Mep: This is a known issue with the Teladi lotteries. IT will be fixed in the next patch.
