Just where can I buy it? I can't find any fab producing it and every last of the equipment docks I've been to has a shortage of it.

The factory that produce the weapon should also produce the ammo IIRC

Each X-Universe is different, but what you are looking for is a 'Special Weapons Complex', in Split territory.

There's usually an ammo factory in Wastelands.
Otherwise try the southern boron sectors. IIRC there are three Special Weapon Complexes in the sectors around Great Reef. They're often full on my PC...
...but as usual, YMMV.
