System Override MK1 - Allows the claiming and salvage of Abandoned ships without leaving the cockpit, with a limited range of about 30 meters. Illegal to possess one in space controlled by most races

System Override MK2 - Allows claiming and salvage of Abandoned ships from 5km away. Undetectable to freight scans

The range varies depending on what you're in or what you're trying to claim (not sure which) - about 150m claiming an LX from the M7.

The software is illegal, but if you're lucky you may find a BBS offer at a pirate base for Software Signature Scrambler which hides it from scans :)

System Override Mk2 is a scripted add on IIRC. Not in vanilla. To save you a search! It is a very good bit of kit, though...

Yeah - MK1 is standard (well, in the Bonus pack) but MK2 is an add on script and therefore only available in modified games.

I thought the Mk. 2 version of the software came with the Bala Gi pack.

It is not mentioned inthe 3.1.0.7 readme.

I had to add it - it would be a good one to get into the Bonus pack, though.

I did that too, but it got ejected after using it only one time, probably because of a police scan. Now I can't replace it because all of the Pirate Bases are angry at me.

Buy the scrambler software already mentioned, or keep it on a docked ship (or so I hear - never tried that personally).

Alternatively, you could always kill the police :p.

Putting it on a docked ship works. I had 1 in the Pirate Buster docked in my Hyperion and never got caught. Until, of course, I fly out in it personally without switching it to the Hyperion and got caught/ejected it. Pirates don't like me atm so I've not got 1 right now.
