Is this normal? (Xenon Invasion)
I did my first Xenon Invasion in one of the Teladi Sectors and it ended up being a lot easier than expected, a bit too easy.
The swarm of Xenon ships just kept shooting this one ship and chased that one ship around the sector. They were completely focused at killing that one ship which I suspect may have been invincible because it was absorbing an insane amount of weapons fire without dying. All I had to do was follow the Xenon swarm and pick them off one by one.
Is this normal at all or did I just get some kind of strange glitch or something?

actueally it randomly spawns a named specail M6 or somthing like that for the span of the event. So yeah each race has named specail ships but they only last the Invation.
EDIT: Yeah I just did a xenon invation in eighteen Billion and ended up getting 7 mill creds for killing the K. It spawned an invincible M6 but he actueally ran away when the K shot him.

The invincible helper is normal -- it's the game's way of making sure the sector won't get completely trashed if you fail to drive off the XI.
Sometimes the helper draws lots of fire and makes things easy for you, sometimes the helper kills the big target(s) and gets the big bounty you were hoping for. It probably all evens out over the long term.

However, there is a pattern on how these helpers show up:
* Argons in the middle of Xenon
* Teladi and Split near
* Boron and Paranid the other side of sector
For example in Scale Plate Green it will take a good while before the three-eyed captain finds a way around all those rocks and into the action.
I think my long term average is about 75% of Capital ship kills.

Don't I just know it! I take more "friendly fire" damage from these so called helpers than I ever do from the Xenon.pjknibbs wrote:And sometimes the helper ship is armed with PSGs and you have to stay well clear if you want to live...
@StealthElephant - I am sure the J's eventually stop jumping, 10 or so jumps later, keast they do for me.

Yes, they do...they do not have unlimited ships at their disposal, and will eventually jump in to the invasion sector and stay there. (The Xenon clearly aren't great tacticians, leaving a carrier in hostile territory once it's dropped its entire payload of fighters... ).Roderick Gibson wrote: @StealthElephant - I am sure the J's eventually stop jumping, 10 or so jumps later, keast they do for me.

I play X2, and when doing a XI, a J jumped in. IT NEVER STOPPED LAUNCHING (or so I thought, didn't wait long). After about 150 Ls came in divided into waves of 30, I went to the adjacent Xenon sector. Lo and Behold! There was the J, and so I killed it in about 30 secs.
