X1TP v0.1 on TC

The Mod is currently in the final stages on beta testing on X3:R, i am attempting to convert it over to Terran Conflict aswell. It is made a bit harder as a lot of the files have been compressed into pck format even DDS!!!. But i have managed to get round it and i am able start editing.

This is what i have done so far:

how'd you decompress the PCKs?

I found by chance that 7zip can actually extract .pcks. Even though I don't think it actually recognizes the format (it extracts without adding the .xml to then end of the file, you have to rename manually).

That menu wasn't in a pck so that was the easy bit, but i also did exactly what 'ThisIsHarsh' did at editing tships ..... It seems the only way to do it atm.

What i have got working in game so far:


-> MAP
-> Menu


working on editing tships on jobs file, having to re-learn using notepad :?

EDIT: I've also been able to change the names of the ships easy, the text resource editor works!!!

btw, the tool in my beta release of the plugin manager, catpck.exe, can use both X3 and X3TC cat and pck files ;)

the format itself hasn't actually changes, the difference is that in TC, the files are only packed, they are not encrypted like they are in X3R

bit more progress i have managed to get one of the models in game, it i slightly harder to do as i haven't got a tships editor so i have to do it with notepad.

Here's a screenshot of the x1 argon buster, sorry it is a bit dark (there is no sun in that sector). I did brighten it up with a inmage editor afterwards:

As this is a new game, it looks like i'm being a bit open about the x1 developement for terran conflict.

EDIT: btw what does catpck.exe do?, i haven't found much about it :oops:

its a command line tool for using cat files.

it can basically do the same things the mod manager can but from the command line.

listing the contents of a cat files, filtering the file list, adding and removing files. Extracting files from cats, pack and unpack files, etc

still a beta however, it will be released offically with Plugin Manager 2.20.
but you can download the beta version and get it from the tools directory

Unfortunatly my motherboard is broken, so i cannot work on the mod for a couple of days. I will update the topic i when i have got a bit further with the mod
