Wingman formation

I just got an Elite, and I want to keep the Sabre as a wingman. How do I make it fly in formation with me? Protect me doesn't do it. It does work but it just flies around me and stuff.

Protect Me does work. Sometimes the AI has trouble staying in place, especially with player pilots.
