[X3TC] Asteroids & empire building sectors

Post by Yossarian22 » Sat, 1. Nov 08, 17:51

Edit 11/02/08 - Ice asteroid color inclusion

Anyone know any sectors good for building their giant complex and empires? Good high yield asteroids, few jumpgates, not cloudy (hate cloudy sectors), maybe in unknown space for illegal factories?

I figure X3TC hasn't been out that long and there are no addendum to the Ultimate X3 Resource thread (yet) so perhaps this could, in time, be a contribution? A group collaboration? I'll start things off, I guess. Rough outline of format but just follow mine for Perpetual Sin. If there is a consensus to change the format, chime on in. All done by hand and Enhanced Jaguar. More to come. Feel free to add on or point out corrections. Let's get this ball rolling.

I'll do some of the Unknowns in Terran space.

Come in and contribute to the community. All it takes is a nimble craft and a mineral scanner and screenshotting the window(s) of the asteroids/writing them down and typing them up. Call dibs on a sector and write it up, even do sectors which are not devoid of life, like a 6 asteroid sector. Call dibs on it and write it up, this way we can build a compendium of asteroid locations and sectors to build complexes. Help chip in! Also accepting suggestions of sectors to scan (can't get to any of the kha'ak but perhaps someone else could?)

Pitch in to the war effort!

I've done some of the Unknown Sectors in Terran Space/the solar system Sol and nothing too impressive unless you're an Nvidium miner, but I will put my scans up eventually. The problem is that I'm not using any scripts, doing it all manual and non-modified. Bought my girlfriend expensive gift for x-mas already  busy with college...

Yeah, I'd put aside a save to use the SE, places like Savage Spur will take you years.

The Unknow sector west of Xenon 534 is a very good one... not a problem one you have the hub...

Aldrin Sector i think its maybe the best one... but well with that size, its impossible to have a mining complex.

Good Sector

if we are talking about ap, and you have a terran start, and don't mind investing in security, the asteroid belt features the largest ice asteroid, and a ton of ore and silicon, including ore and silicon yields of the regular max and one step below. if you wait till the war is over, you won't have to worry about security as much. if you wait till the war is over, I guess you don't need a terran start either. but aldrin ships run through here as well, and their stations have resources and products of all races. in other words, if its worth your effort, asteroid belt could make you a pretty penny.

Just a small note: pirate bases spawn randomly, except for the large bases deep in Yaki and Pirate space. I actually had a pirate base IN Perpetual Sin on one of my game starts. Just so you know...

Actually, that's not true--the pirate bases will always be in the same locations at the beginning of the game. However, if one gets destroyed (usually by a race patrol or Xenon activity) it'll respawn randomly elsewhere, which is why you might have seen one popping up in Perpetual Sin. (I believe Anarchy Ports are different in that they will respawn where they were before, though).

I usually grab this one due to it being a couple jumps away from a Jumpdrive, which is in a completely secure sector and one must travel thru it to get to your unknown sector. Also has decent Asteroids. 9 sectors to the closest Xenon sector (I set the complex to 9 jumps). There is a 6k or so hidden cache' of credits in that sector, too.

this thread is almost 5 years old - isn't it time to let it rest in peace?
Maverick: Requesting permission for flyby.
Air Boss Johnson: That's a negative ghostrider, the pattern is full.
Goose: No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.
Maverick: Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz a Split.
Split: Split now give you .... Aaaarrriiiigh.

Yeah, probably, since the OP hasn't been posted on the forums in five years, and it's not listed as a guide in the Ultimate Resources sticky, and may be a bit out of date, too. So unless anyone strongly objects - CLICK.
