Resources: Starburst Cannon Forge, Point Singularity Projector Forge mystery
I've just recently bought a Terran Osaka M2. I knew the Terran ships are a pain to equip because of the lack of jumpgates in their sectors...but I really like their designs so I went forward with it anyways. I thought, "whatever, it will probably take a couple days or so to get it fully outfitted."
Well, in my game there are two point Singularity Projector Forges and one Starburst Shockwave Cannon Forge. Neither ever has the resources it needs to produce, namely Water and Hull Plating. So, I bought 10 freighters and assigned each one to buy resources for all of the factories. Flash forward 14-18 gametime hours later and neither has produced a thing. Despite each factory being full of resources.
The mysterious thing is that each factory uses up all of its water within 20 minutes of getting it, while not using a single other resource and not making a single thing.
Thought I'd share my bug experience and hope someone has some kind of answer. I'd really like to just be able to make these weapons spawn or something, same with boarding pods....this is ridiculous.
Luckily I was able to track down 7 PSPs so my brand new M2 isn't completely useless, it's more than capable of taking on 4 or 5 K's....but it's completely incapable of destroying the M's, N's, and L's.
Guess I'll pickup a Boreas until this thing gets fixed.

iirc, Water and Hull Plating are both secondary resources for those factories - they're not actually required to produce anything, and are consumed at a fixed rate.gman343 wrote:Well, in my game there are two point Singularity Projector Forges and one Starburst Shockwave Cannon Forge. Oh, I see. Didn't realize that. Still though, should it really take that long for them to produce? It's been more than a day of game time and neither has made anything. No ships ever land at these factories, so I really don't understand whats going on. Only explanation I can think of is this stuff takes much longer to produce than I thought.

My game only has one PSP forge and no SSC forge. So I cheated a forge (which refused to produce anything, so I destroyed it again).
Anyway, my PSP forge produces much faster than 2 days/PSP. So I guess your forges are bugged and aren't producing anything for some reason. Or some other freighter bought it before you and sold it to a Terran station which sells the PSP or SSC.

I don't get people. Never have. Never will.
Well, turns out the PSP forges are both producing. I check the PSP and SSC forges maybe every 20 minutes of gameplay. After a day or so of producing nothing, now the PSP forges are making stuff again.
In the time they have producded 4 Point Singularity Projectors each, the Starburst forge still hasn't made a thing. PSPs cost 1 million and the Starburst Cannons cost 550,000. You'd think they'd be faster. So, if I blow up the Starburst Forge, it will respawn somewhere? Though, that will kill my rep with the Terrans....

If you want PSP's, go to a Xenon sector and kill some K's. Sometimes they can drop up to 8 psp's at one time and other terran weaponry (the J's like to drop those starburst cannons as well).
Of course you have to be lucky for a cap ship to drop weapons and not just a few missiles. K's are full of juicy weapons if they do drop something though.

To be honest, I think they DO make them, but because they're so slow, their sellers are probably just sitting there and will snag them up within 0.00000001 seconds of it being made.gman343 wrote:Oh, I see. If you keep patrolling around Terran sectors, you'll find some more every now and then at Military bases and Orbital Defence stations.
(btw, 8 Singularity Projecters is plenty. Just put all 8 on the front. It will kill everything before it can ever reach you. Even Khaak destroyers.)
Creston
guys... they're just broken... screw the xenon and workarounds.
you shouldn't have to go cruising around Xenon sectors scavanging because half the factories\equipment docks in the bloody game are empty.
@ Creston, A.I in theory will not\should not buy weapons unless they are below the average price. How else would the economy work?
However, i have observed traders emptying out adv. sattellite factories when only one or two are in stock. They do not use them, and they can not possibly make a profit on selling them.
bear with it until its fixed, im sure the guys at ego aren't getting much sleep atm

Well I went shopping in the Xenon sectors and managed to find myself 8 Starburst Cannons in no time. My ship is much more capable against fighters now. Still, they should have been available in the Terran sectors.
Also, I havn't seen anyone mention this on the board...but does everyone realize you can charge the PSP's? If you hold down the button, they get much much more powerful. One salvo from my front PSP's eliminates any M2's shields and some hull. Had a blast taking down K's and J's left and right doing a 160M patrol mission last night. Enough for a new carrier and escort frigate.
Don't suppose there is anywhere to go to kill enemies that drop boarding pods now?
